The Westside Business Ownership class has created The Wolves Den, the school store. The students will be responsible for all aspects of the company. They will sell stocks to raise capital for the company, create a business plan, research the community to determine which products will be most successful, create the products, set-up the store (located in the commons), advertise, track all financial records, etc. At the end of the year the students will finalize all required paperwork, and liquidate the company. All the stockholders will receive a letter from the President along with a check for their share of the profits!

The Wolves Den was selected as one of the top 7 company programs this year and competed on Saturday for the “Company of the Year” award.  They gave a 15 min presentation to a group of judges and explained their company, how it functioned this year and why they should be the Company of the Year! The presentation went great and we look forward to hearing the results of their hard work!

Business Ownership hosted the first ever Video Game Night in the Westside High School Commons on Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30-9pm.   Many showed up and had a great time vying to win the title as the BEST for 3 different games: Halo 3, Super Smash Brothers, and Street Fighter 4. Jean-Claude Brouillette won the Super Smash Brothers Tournament.  Even those who didn’t enter tournaments had a great time playing Mario Kart, Ultimate Ninja, Guitar Hero and many other games! Thanks to all those who came out!

Business Ownership continued the Valentine’s tradition and pre-sold candy grams for Valentine’s Day.  Cupid “Zack Coll” was even present to take pictures with students during lunch!

School Store is NOW OPEN for t-shirt/hoodie sales!

The Wolves Den is proud to announce that our school store in the Commons is now open. We will be open during both lunches on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday! Come check out the t-shirts and

Westside Wins Award at Trade Fair
December 2007
Congratulations to the Wolves Den for winning second place at Trade Fair (sponsored by Junior Achievement) for Best Sales Presenation.  The criteria they were judged on was attracting customers to their store, being professional and well dressed, having a good sales pitch, and closing the deal. The students were also given positive feedback for the set-up of their booth and their creative products. They sold hand made items including bowls melted into records, themed wreaths, cork wreaths, scarves, blankets, bulletin boards, ornaments, and more. They also provided pictures with Santa with a creative twist. The pictures were taken in front of a green screen and then the students added backgrounds using Photoshop. Kudos to our young businessmen and businesswomen!
